부다페스트는 헝가리 축구의 중심지다. 헝가리 축구의 황금기였던 1950년대 선수들 대부분이 바로 이 도시 출신이다. 부다페스트 사람들에게 축구는 단순한 스포츠가 아니라 문화, 정체성 그리고 역사의 일부이다.
Budapest is the heart of Hungarian football. Most of the players from Hungary's golden age in the 1950s came from this city. For the people of Budapest, football is not just a sport but a part of their culture, identity, and history.

페렌츠바로시 TC는 클럽이 위치한 부다페스트 제9구의 이름인 페렌츠바로시를 그대로 사용하고 있다. 이 지역은 역사적으로 노동자 계층과 중산층이 공존했던 곳으로 클럽은 오랫동안 ‘서민의 팀’, ‘거리의 팀’, ‘국민 클럽’으로 불리며 민중적 정체성을 형성해 왔다.
Ferencvárosi TC takes its name from Ferencváros, Budapest's 9th district where the club is located. Historically, this area was home to both working and middle classes, and the club has long developed its popular identity by being known as 'the people's team', 'the street team', and 'the national club'.

페렌츠바로시 TC는 1899년 창단 이후 120년이 넘는 역사 속에 탄압과 회복의 서사를 가지고 있다. 헝가리의 체제 변동과 더불어 클럽은 본래의 이름을 잃기도 했다. 경기장에서 반정부적 구호나 정권에 대한 풍자적 현수막의 등장으로 클럽과 팬들은 지속적인 감시와 통제를 받기도 했다. 1989년 헝가리의 민주화 이후, 페렌츠바로시 TC는 다시 구단의 이름, 상징, 역사가 복원되었다. 팬들에게 이는 ‘억압된 정체성의 복권’, ‘공동체의 승리’로 받아들여지고 있다.
Ferencvárosi TC has a narrative of oppression and recovery in its history spanning over 120 years since its founding in 1899. Along with Hungary's regime changes, the club even lost its original name. Due to anti-government slogans and satirical banners appearing in the stadium, the club and its fans were subjected to constant surveillance and control. After Hungary's democratization in 1989, Ferencvárosi TC had its name, symbols, and history restored. For the fans, this is regarded as 'the reinstatement of suppressed identity' and 'the victory of community'.

페렌츠바로시 TC는 부다페스트 시민에게 단지 ‘좋아하는 팀’이 아니라 ‘우리를 나타내는 존재’이다. 그들에게 팀과 문화는 자기 존재의 가치와 소속된 공동체의 의미를 재확인하는 치유와 회복의 공간이다.
